Chadwin Tripp autopsy results.

MOROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Chadwin Tripp was found dead outside a West Monroe home a day before Thanksgiving, now questions about what caused his death are getting answers.

"The cause of death was ruled a methamphetamine intoxication with significant contributing factors of hypothermia and that's what we received back from the pathologist in Little Rock, Arkansas," Major Jason Pleasent of the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office said.

After an autopsy was done on Tripp's body, funeral director Kenneth Griffin advised the family to have the body re-examined. Griffin discovered multiple cuts and bruises missing toenails and other signs. He said could have been the result of foul play, but a sheriff's department investigator says the injuries could have happened while Tripp was under the influence of meth.

Tripp was released from the Jackson parish correctional facility seven days before his death. His father is struggling with the conclusion his son died from an overdose.

"I don't think them results are showing any thing. I believe all it's showing is that everybody was doing meth over there that night, but meth didn't kill him. Meth don't kill you, you don't die from meth."

The sheriff's office feels otherwise. Pleasant says he will turn over the evidence and the autopsy results to the District Attorney's office for review.
