MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The cold weather knocked out power in some places here in the Arklamiss, including Sterlington.

If you're having problems with heat in your home, or you know someone who needs a warm place to stay, there are shelters open in Monroe.

City employees have room for about 50 people to stay at the Marbles Community Center.

Also, Tuesday night the Salvation Army on Hart Street will be open. And, across the river the West Monroe Community Center on SAouth 5th Street will also be open.

Few people took shelter at Marbles Monday night, but the Salvation Army shelter was reported to be at full capacity.

A check of the Entergy website late Tuesday morning showed no power outages remained in the Sterlington area.
