MONROE, la. (KNOE 8 News) - The Monroe businessman accused of holding his wife against her will, resulting in a standoff with police, will remain in custody.

Dean Hart Jr. was back in court Tuesday morning for a bond hearing. Instead of setting bond, the judge ordered Hart to spend the next 90 days in a substance abuse treatment facility. The judge did not disclose the location of that treatment facility.

The judge did schedule a bond hearing for May 19th following the 90 day period in treatment. Furthermore, it was ordered that Hart Jr. have no contact with his wife. KNOE 8 News has learned that Hart Jr. filed for divorce from his wife after the stand-off with police and while in custody. We also confirmed that Hart Jr. filed a restraining order against his estranged wife.

Hart Jr. is charged with one count of false imprisonment, two counts of second-degree battery, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of second-degree kidnapping and one count of rape.

Hart was arrested following a seven hour stand-off with police. The stand-off put the neighborhood near Monroe's Walmart and ULM on lock down for several hours. The stand-off ended when Hart surrendered peacefully after meeting with a friend.

Police say Hart held his wife against her will and sexually assaulted her. She escaped and police were alerted to the situation. That's when the stand-off ensued.

The Hart family was in the news last year when Dean Hart Sr. was killed in a plane crash. Hart Jr. and his father owned a construction and real estate business.

Court documents show trouble at the house started the day after Christmas with an argument over a cell-phone between Hart and his wife. That argument lead to threats that Hart was going to kill his wife and her ex-husband.

Court papers say Hart went to a hospital where the ex-husband works to confront him, but he was not there. The wife tried, unsuccessfully, to escape during that trip.

Over the next several days she says she was sexually assaulted at the couple's home, until she was able to escape. After the escape, police were alerted, resulting in the stand-off, which ended peacefully after a friend convinced Hart Jr. to surrender.
