North La temps: 50s in the morning, frigid afternoon

Posted: Updated:

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Temperatures plummet as an arctic front moves into the Deep South, sending temperatures from the 50s to feeling frozen.

The National Weather Service says North Louisiana had morning temperatures in the 50s, but meteorologists say that by midafternoon, they had fallen to the upper 30s, with winds strong enough to make them feel like the low 30s or upper 20s.

And he says clear skies at night will mean a frigid Monday morning, with temperatures in the upper teens and a wind chill in the single digits.

Temperatures in central Louisiana were in the 40s.
