Monroe Police respond to an armed robbery

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Monroe Police were called to the 1600 block of South 12th Street for an alleged armed robbery.

Police say Bentarrious Tarver went to a house where he allegedly left a television, and demanded it back.

When the residents told him the television was no longer there but had been turned into police, Tarver pulled out a gun and demanded money from the victims before running away on foot.

Tarver was located by police with the firearm a short while later.

He has been booked with one count of armed robbery, and is being held at the Ouachita Correctional Center.
