LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas legislative leaders say they're not pushing yet to remove Lt. Gov. Mark Darr from office, as calls grow for the Republican official to step down after being cited for campaign finance and ethics violations

Senate President Michael Lamoureux and House Speaker Davy Carter stopped short Thursday of demanding Darr's resignation after he agreed to pay $11,000 in fines for 11 violations over his campaign's spending. The two also said it's too early to discuss the possibility of impeachment proceedings against the lieutenant governor.

Democratic Gov. Mike Beebe and the state's Republican congressional delegation members have called on the GOP official to resign.

State Rep. Andy Mayberry on Thursday also said Darr should step down. Mayberry is seeking the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor this year.
