UPDATE:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - District Attorney Jerry Jones has released details of the investigation of Dean Hart, Jr., accused of holding his wife against her will over the weekend.

A search warrant was executed on the home of Dean Hart, Jr. and the following were found:

Multiple plastic bags with white residue (suspected narcotics)
Smith and Wesson MNP AR 15
Rossi 22 Caliber Rifle
Remington 12 ga.
Winchester 30-06
Winchester 12 ga. Super X
Winchester 12 ga. Model 12
Marlin 17 Caliber
Aguirre 12 ga.
Winchester 16 ga.
Mossberg 12 ga.
Ruger LCR Pistol with laser
Multiple boxes of ammunition

Blood and urine samples from Dean Hart, Jr., have been taken and submitted for analysis.

Court documents show trouble at the house started the day after Christmas with an argument over a cell-phone between Hart and his wife. That argument lead to threats that Hart was going to kill his wife and her ex-husband.

Court papers say Hart went to a hospital where the ex-husband works to confront him, but he was not there. The wife tried, unsuccessfully, to escape during that trip.

Over the next several days she says she was sexually assaulted at the couple's home, until she was able to escape. After the escape, police were alerted, resulting in the stand-off, which ended peacefully after a friend convinced Hart Jr. to surrender.

Previous story:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe businessman Dean Hart Jr. made a first appearance via a video link in Ouachita Parish court Thursday morning.

It was expected that bond would be set in the stand-off case, but instead Hart was ordered to be held without bond and a date was set for the bond hearing. That hearing is set for next Tuesday, January 7th at 9:00 A.M. Hart Jr. will remain in custody in the Ouachita Parish Corrections center until at least that time.

He is charged with one count of false imprisonment, two counts of second-degree battery, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of second-degree kidnapping and one count of rape.

Hart was arrested following a seven hour stand-off with police Monday. The stand-off put the neighborhood near Monroe's Walmart and ULM on lock down for several hours. The stand-off ended when Hart surrendered peacefully after meeting with a friend.

Police say Hart held his wife against her will over the weekend and sexually assaulted her. She escaped and police were alerted to the situation. That's when the stand-off ensued.

The Hart family was in the news last year when Dean Hart Sr. was killed in a plane crash. Hart Jr. and his father owned a construction and real estate business.
