Monroe Police respond to storm activity

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police along with Monroe Fire Department and Public Works initiated the City of Monroe Emergency Operations Center at the Public Safety Center located on US 165 at 5:00 PM.

The above agencies responded to numerous calls for service that included property damage, trees down, and downed power lines.

The damage extended from the 2400 block of Louisville Avenue to the campus of ULM.

Entergy units are on scene and continue to restore power to the affected areas.

As of this time, no injuries have been reported inside the City limits of Monroe.
