QUITMAN, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Chris Nixon will be walking up the stairs of the federal court house in Monroe Thursday to face a federal judge for a second time, after being arrested Monday on charges of child pornography production.

Tuesday, we went to the home of Sherri Nixon, his mother, and got reaction from people around town who all seem to be in disbelief.

"Are you Sherri Nixon?" says KNOE Reporter Hilary Hunt

"Yes" says Nixon.

"Is your son Chris Nixon?" says Hunt.

"I don't have a comment" says Nixon.

We spoke with Chris Nixon's mother who is overwhelmed with the developments over the past 24 hours.

Her 20 year old son has been arrested on federal charges of production of child pornography.

"Its really hard for me to deal with this right now," says Nixon.

"Did you ever expect this?" says Hunt.

"No I never expected this.  I don't have a comment" says Nixon.

Sherri Nixon isn't the only one in disbelief. Tina Guyotte worked with Sherri and knows the family, she finds the news shocking.

"Its very surprising. I would have never imagined this could be happening but I am going to pray for his family and pray for him too." says Guyotte.

Investigators say Nixon was arrested last night at a home near Jonesboro after Homeland Security Investigators received nearly 50 tips from the public on their tip line after showing pictures of a man they called "John Doe."

Nixon appeared in a Shreveport federal court Tuesday in connection with production of child pornography charges.

In the small town of Quitman word has traveled fast.

"So much goes on in the world that you just sometimes ignore. All the bad until it hits home, its just very sad," says Quitman resident Paula Guyotte.

And it's a situation that leaves his mother Sherri Nixon in tears and unwilling to talk about the situation.

"You cant even talk about what kind of person your son is?" says Hunt.

"Just get my dog in the house and let me go lay down," says Sherri Nixon.

Tuesday in court we're told prosecuting attorney's made an argument for the judge to not set bond in the case.
