FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A father and son have been arrested by Union Parish sheriff's deputies and booked into the parish correction center.

Deputies booked James Edward Lee Jr., 33, of 5124 La. Hwy. 2, Farmerville, on charges of resisting an officer, possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. His total bond was set at $7,500.

His father, James E. Lee Sr., 52, of 207 Davis Drive, Farmerville, was charged with obstruction of justice and his bond was set at $4,000.

Sheriff Dusty Gates said the department received a complaint from Lee Jr.'s girlfriend that he had accused her of being unfaithful and had torn up some items in their house. She told deputies that he had left headed for his father's house on Davis Drive and was driving his father's small white pickup.

When deputies arrived at the house, the pickup was parked at the house but Lee Sr. denied that his son was there. He finally gave deputies permission to search the residence where Lee Jr. was hiding.

A search of the pickup turned up a bottle of prescription cyclobenzaprine prescribed to Lee Jr.'s girlfriend. Also found was a set of scales and a suspected marijuana pipe, Gates said.
