The man behind the Duck Dynasty music

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - There is another aspect of Duck Dynasty we all recognize, the music.

Not just the ZZ-Top song at the beginning, but the music you hear throughout each episode.

Today we spoke with the man behind that music.

Tony Pasko never watched Duck Dynasty before season two. But being from Mississippi, he seemed the perfect choice to write a type of music that reflects the southern culture.

"I was signed to a record label. They asked me if I would write some music kind of like from the south and I'm like blues or blue grass?" Pasko said.

Today, he is on stage at the Downtown River Market, alongside two of his friends. Many Mitchell flew in this morning, and said he's excited to play.

"He (Pasko) does all the rifts for the show, except for the opening theme, because of course ZZ-Top does. The rest of the stuff is Tony, so they wanted him to come play. So we just back tony up," Mitchell said.

Neither Pasko nor Mitchell have ever met any of the Robertson's.

"We've just gone from season to season and we have just been working at it," Pasko said. "This is actually my first time here and hopefully my first time to meet everybody."

Maybe today is the day the man behind the scenes will finally meet the stars who have shined the light on his music.

Pasko did go to the Duck Commander warehouse on Friday. He says it is a little surreal to hear his music playing in the gift shop.
