1 dead, 2 injured in Vicksburg shooting

VICKSBURG, Miss. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Two Vicksburg men have been charged in the wounding of two people at a Saturday night party at the local American Legion Post.

A third person died from wounds suffered in the shooting.

27-year-old Michael Robinson died at River Region Medical Center about 12:41 a.m. Sunday. They say Robinson was shot once in the right side of his chest.

Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said 24-year-old Wade Carter and 34-year-old Charles Brooks were wounded in the shooting.

She says 36-year-old Morris Anthony Davis and 43-year-old David Matthew Reed are each charged with aggravated assault in the shooting Carter and Brooks. They were being held without bond pending an initial court appearance.

No charges have been filed in the death of Robinson.
