Two arrested, police search for three others for racketeering

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Two people have been arrested in the past weeks for racketeering charges, and police have warrants for three others in connection to repeated thefts.

Several suspects have been identified by Monroe Police in connection to thefts and racketeering at retail stores throughout Monroe, Ouachita Parish, and some in other states. Detectives say they have been able to link unique factors and patterns of several of these offenses.

"The investigations revealed that several suspects have been involved in multiple high profile thefts totaling thousands of dollars in loss to retailers," reports Sgt. Mark Johnson.

Mikeisha Mitchell and Timothy Butler, both of Monroe, has been arrested for racketeering. Mitchell has 11 pasts arrests for theft and fraud, while Butler has 35 previous charges against him for theft, burglary, and trespassing. Bond has been set at $50,000 each.

Police have arrest warrants for three other suspects: Dennkeetra T. Ruff, Latoria Hollins, and Glenda F. Jackson

"34 other persons have been identified as repeat offenders in connection with the above offenses and have been connected to the five suspects listed below. Charges and warrants are pending against these subjects," reports Johnson.
