JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Roads are beginning to ice in Mississippi's northwest corner, and some power has gone out.

Entergy Mississippi reports more than 2,000 customers without power in DeSoto, Tunica, Coahoma and Tallahatchie counties.

The Mississippi Delta is under a winter weather advisory for freezing rain until 8 p.m. Friday. He says ice accumulations could range from one-tenth of an inch to one-quarter of an inch.

DeSoto and Tunica counties, closer to the storm's worst areas in Arkansas and Tennessee, are under an ice storm warning until 6 p.m. Friday. Accumulations up to one-half inch are expected.

DeSoto officials are opening shelters and deploying emergency workers.
