MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- The family of Chadwinn Tripp wants the truth to come out about his death.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff deputies located the body of the 31 year old Tripp on Nov. 27 in West Monroe, they ruled his death as an overdose.

Tripp's family is speaking out, they believe the Sheriff's office didn't conduct a thorough investigation.

Tripp's body was sent to Arkansas for an autopsy. His body returned to West Monroe on Saturday to be prepared for burial. That was put on hold.

Kenneth Griffin of Griffin Funeral Home received Tripp's body and was in charged of his prepping. While cleaning his body Griffin noticed Tripp's body had been badly bruised, almost as though he was tortured before he died.

After noticing the bruises, Griffin advised Tripp's family to postpone burying him and suggested the body be re-examined.

The family finds it real hard to believe Tripp would overdose on drugs, especially after being home a mere seven days before he died.

Sheriff Jay Russell confirms that this investigation is still open and a cause of death is pending.
