UPDATE: Sheriff's deputies investigating deadly Richwood wreck

UPDATE:

RICHWOOD, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The identity of the deceased driver has been confirmed to be 37-year-old Gary Wells of Monroe, LA.

The other driver has been identified as 38-year-old Robert Porter of Monroe, LA.

Charges are pending on Porter following his release from the hospital.

UPDATE:

RICHWOOD, La. (KNOE 8 News) -The surviving driver will be charged with vehicular manslauter.

ORIGINAL STORY:

RICHWOOD, La. (KNOE 8 News) -  Ouachita Parish Sheriff's deputies are investigating a two-car wreck that has left one person dead and shut down Richwood Road 2, west of U.S. Highway 165, in Richwood.

At least one other person has been airlifted to a hospital.  There's no word yet on other victims.

The wreck happened Monday evening just off Highway 165.  At least one of the two cars involved burst into flames.  All lanes of Richwood Road 2 west of the highway are shut down.

It isn't clear yet what caused the crash.
