MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - State Police confirm that the driver who hit a car killing a Ouachita Parish High School football player had been pulled over by police just a few minutes before the accident occurred.

You may recall early last week, Howard Coleman's car crossed Highway 594 hitting the one seventeen year old Dillon Neal was driving.

The accident report shows that a Louisiana State Police trooper had just pulled Coleman over for speeding, but he was issued only a warning. Coleman told the trooper that he was late for a family portrait at Pecanland Mall.

There is no evidence connecting the traffic stop and the accident in any way.

Another student, Malik Johnson was seriously injured in the wreck.
