MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police arrested two teenagers who may have been trying to break into homes in the Glenmar Avenue area.

17-year-old David Jackson and a 16-year old were arrested on trespassing charges. The investigation shows the two men were knocking on doors of homes that appeared unoccupied and then hiding in nearby bushes.

Police believe these subjects were waiting to see if anyone would answer the door to verify if anyone was home.   A resident saw the suspects and the above behavior and notified Monroe Police.

The two were taken into custody after they attempted to run away from police.  No entry was made into any homes and no one was injured.

Police were able to verify the two did not know or have any business at the doors of the homes they were observed at.  Jackson was booked at Richwood Correctional Center and the Juvenile was released to a legal guardian.

An investigation is ongoing to determine any connection to recent burglaries in the area.
