MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A crowd of Ouachita High School students and supporters gathered to remember one of their own. Dillon Neal a seventeen year old junior and football player at Ouachita parish high school died Saturday after being involved in a fatal car accident. Neal is remembered by his mother as a young man of strong faith who never put anything before god.

"Dillon was heavily in the church. If anybody paid attention to his book bag or anything he always going to say god first family second," Raven Neal said.

Raven Neal has found comfort in knowing her son was a good example to his friends and teammates.

"Tweets on twitter it got me through last night. Some made me laugh some just made me realize how blessed he was," Neal said.

Dillon lived in Monroe with his grandparents while his mother worked in Texas. Raven Neal made it as often as she could to support her at the football games. Her last memory of him playing was last week against West Monroe.

"I told him. I said Dillon your last two years in school I'm coming home and I'm going to make everyone of your games. I made all his games except two and I didn't know that when he played west Monroe that would be his last."

His family say it's the support of others that's keeping so strong.
