Minor seriously injured in Lincoln Parish crash

RUSTON, La. (KNOE 8 News) -An unrestrained minor suffers serious injuries in a single vehicle crash in Lincoln Parish.

Around 7 p.m. Friday, Louisiana State Police Troopers responded to a crash on Works Road west of Louisiana Highway 818.

A 16 year old was driving a 1995 Ford Explorer, traveling west on Works Road when it drove off the right side of the road. The vehicle drove back onto the road, then rotated clockwise and overturned several times.

The driver was not restrained and was ejected during the crash suffering serious injuries. The driver was taken to a hospital in Shreveport. The passenger, also 16 years old, was properly restrained and was transported to a hospital in Ruston with minor injuries.

LSP report that impairment use is unknown, and a toxicology sample was obtained and submitted for analysis.
