OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Sheriff deputies have made an arrest in the early October armed robbery of a convenience store in Winnsboro Road in Monroe.

On October 7th, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office investigated an armed robbery at the Highway 15 U-Pak-It store. Witnesses confirmed a suspect armed with a handgun entered the business and demanded money from the attendants. The suspect fired the weapon at an attendant and fled with an undetermined amount of money.

On October 24th, Investigators secured an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Charles Ladarren Owens, of Monroe, for one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault with a firearm with total bond set at $150,000.

Early Friday morning, the OPSO SWAT Team assisted by executing two search warrants that produced information about Owens whereabouts. As a result, Owens was arrested. Owens was booked in the Lincoln Detention Center and then transferred to the Ouachita Correctional Center.

Owens was arrested at 1:30 PM on Marie Street in Grambling. Deputies located Owens as he was leaving the Marie Street address, being driven by a female acquaintance. Police say the woman was aware that Owens was wanted by law enforcement.
