UPDATE: Suspect wanted in fatal Bastrop shooting in custody

BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Update: The suspect wanted for his involvement in a Bastrop shooting has turned himself in.

According to Bastrop Police Chief Downey Black, 19-year-old Jaquarious Bennett turned himself in Thursday morning.

Elijah-Wann Johnson was arrested earlier this week in connection with the shooting on charges of second degree murder.

The victim, who was shot in the stomach, died from his injuries a couple of days later. The victim's name has not been released.

BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The victim wounded in the October 21 shooting in Bastrop has died.

Captain Evans of Bastrop Police confirmed that the male victim died this morning of after being shot in the stomach.

Charges for Elizajahawan Johnson, 18, have been upgraded to second degree murder homicide.

Police are still looking for Jaquarious Bennett, 19, in connection to the crime.

Bennett's charges are subject to be upgraded pending his arrest.

 Bastrop Police have arrested one person and need your help finding another they say is involved in a shooting there.

19-year-old Jaquarious Bennett is wanted on a charge of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. This all stems from the shooting of a man in a car at the intersection of Van and North Marable Monday afternoon.

Police have already arrested one other person. Anyone with information on Bennett's whereabouts is urged to call Bastrop Police.

The shooting victim remains hospitalized.
