GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is getting involved in situation between the Grambling campus newspaper and the school's administration.

Monday night KNOE talked with the online editor of Grambling's student newspaper. He was fired, then reinstated, after posting comments and pictures of the school's failing facilities. Many of those comments were received from anonymous sources.

Another "Gramblinite" student-worker was suspended after participating in a campus protest.

Tuesday, The "National Association of Black Journalists" issued a statement saying, it is troubled by the adversarial relationship between GSU administration and the student media. The NABJ Board says these incidents should have been used as teaching moments.

The board says it will not support attempts to muffle authentic journalism and will monitor the situation. Click on this link to read the entire statement issued by the NABJ.
