Texas rough riders ride for wounded warriors

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Horses on the highway, a sight you may have seen if you were in West Monroe Sunday morning.

Members of the Texas Rough Riders have been on horse back in different states all for a good cause.

The group of three, is attempting to ride 100 miles in each states to bring awareness for Wounded Warriors.

Yesterday the riders were in Calhoun and today West Monroe.

Supports gathered at the Ike Hamilton to wish them luck on their journey.

The riders say it's their way of thanking those who protect their freedom.

"We road 340 miles in Texas last year for the Wounded Warriors and it turned out so great that we meet everybody and we got the wounded warriors at Brooks Army Medical Center to ride the horses and it was a real fulfilling experience.  We discussed riding in all 50 states 100 miles in each state a couple states a year and that what we are trying to do" says one of the riders, Eddie Shook.

So far The riders have completed their 100 miles in Texas and are half way through Louisiana.
