Gearing up to vote

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - For most of you, an important election is Saturday and it could send a new Fifth District Congressional Representative to Washington D.C.

This summer, former U.S. Representative Rodney Alexander stepped down, leaving one seat open. A number of candidates are hoping to win that seat, when election results come in tomorrow night.

Polls open at 6 a.m. and will close at 8 p.m.

Ouachita Parish Clerk of court, Louise Bond says she is unsure about voter turnout.

"I do encourage everyone to get out and vote. A lot of people talk about making changes and I believe that's great but you can't make a change unless you do get out and cast your vote," Bond said

For those of you voting, you'll need a photo ID when you get to the polls.
