MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The City of Monroe will be testing its fire hydrants to ensure sufficient flow in the event of a fire emergency where you live.

The testing, which begins Tuesday and will run through the end of the year, may cause a mild fluctuation in water pressure and could potentially discolor your water.

City officials ask that you check your water supply thoroughly before cooking or doing laundry to alleviate problems.

Testing will only take place during daytime hours Monday through Friday.
