Thai man arrested for donating meth to flood center

BANGKOK (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Officials in Thailand say a man who was high on drugs was arrested after trying to donate methamphetamine tablets to help flood victims at a relief center.

Police say the 39-year-old man showed up with 11 methamphetamine pills at a donation tent Monday.

Police say the man told the volunteers they could sell the drugs and use the money to support the troubled families. The volunteers were actually from a civil drug suppression task force.

The man was handed over to police and will face narcotics possession charges. He could face up to 10 years' imprisonment.
