5th District Congressional Candidate Forum

RUSTON, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Eight of the fourteen candidates vying for the 5th District Congressional seat faced off at a forum Monday night.

The North Central Louisiana Tea Party invited all of the candidates to the forum. No democratic candidates showed up, but eight of those running came to give their thoughts on the election just days before the polls open.

These are the candidates who spoke at the forum:  Henry Herford, (L) Delhi; Clyde Holloway, (R) Forest Hill; Vance McAllister, (R) Monroe; Jay Morris, (R) Monroe; Neil Riser, (R) Columbia; Blake Weatherly, (R) Calhoun; Peter Williams, (I) Lettsworth; and S.B.A. Zaitoon, (L) Baton Rouge. 

Opening statements made by each of the candidates will be available on the web in the next few days.

Remember, the polls open for the Primary Election on October 19, at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
