Referees arrested at high school game

COVINGTON, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Two referees were arrested during a high school football game after getting into a heated argument with a police officer over crowd control.

The confrontation, at the St. Paul's game Friday against Mandeville, caused a delay for at least twenty minutes.

According to officials the two referees tried to throw the officer out of the game but was unsuccessful.

The two referees were both charged with one count of public intimidation and were both released on a 250 dollar bond.
