Pulitzer-winning author dies

NEW YORK (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Cuban-American novelist and Pulitzer Prize winner Oscar Hijuelos has died at age 62.

Hijuelos died of a heart attack in Manhattan Saturday while playing tennis.

His work often captured the Cuban immigrant experience, and he won a Pulitzer for his 1989 novel "The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love."
