TALLULAH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - New details are being released about the 24-year-old man who died in a house fire on Craig Street in Tallulah on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal's Office, Lorenzo Sanders suffered from partial blindness, limb paralysis, and a seizure disorder.  Preliminary findings indicate he died of smoke inhalation, but investigators are awaiting the findings of an autopsy to determine a cause of death.

Sanders' adoptive mother, 64-year-old Erma Hamilton, was hurt while trying to rescue him from the fire.  She has been treated and released from the hospital.  A full-time caregiver, 20-year-old Ieshia Candler, was not home at the time of the fire.

So far, fire investigators have not determined the cause of the fire but say it appears to have started in the central area of the home, possibly in the laundry room.

The house was also used as a daycare center and recently passed a state fire inspection.
