UPDATE: Arrest made in Monroe shooting

UPDATE:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police have made an arrest in their ongoing investigation of a shooting that occurred Wednesday.

Larry Rollins of Monroe was arrested in connection with the case.  Rollins is being held in the Ouachita Correctional Center on a $100,000 bond.

The victim is still in the hospital in critical condition.

UPDATE:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police officials say the injured man remains in critical condition this morning. He was responsive when taken to the hospital.

Police overnight were interviewing witnesses and the suspect involved but no arrests have been made at this time.

Police say they are believe their suspect to be an acquaintance of the victim although a motive for the shooting has yet to be determined.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police say they have a suspect in custody.

According to police the suspect is an acquaintance of the victim.

The motive of the shooting is still unknown.

ORIGINAL STORY:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police are at the scene of a shooting on South 21st Street.

Police tell KNOE 8 News that someone called 911 after they found a 19-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound at about 9 P.M. on Wednesday night.

The victim's condition isn't known, but police say he was responsive when he was taken away in an ambulance.

So far, no arrests have been made in the shooting.
