Update: Police seek suspect in store robbery

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Police are still searching for the person who held up a Monroe convenience store Monday night.

The Texaco UPack It store south of Monroe was robbed just after 8:00 P.M. An armed man entered the store wearing all black including a mask and gloves and stole money from the cash register.

Sheriff investigators also say the suspect fired a shot, but no one was injured in the robbery. The suspect, who is a black male, was last seen running from the store on foot.

Sheriff deputies set up a perimeter to search for the suspect, but they never found the man. They say the investigation is ongoing.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) -  A search is underway in south of Monroe for the person who robbed a convenience store.

A witness tells KNOE 8 News that the store in the 4500 block of Winnsboro Road was robbed Monday night.  The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police are on the scene, and a search perimeter has been set up.
