Richland School Board member charged with simple battery

RAYVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Richland Parish School Board member remains in jail Friday night after being arrested on multiple charges more than a week ago.

Moses Wilkins was arrested on September 3, 2013, on two counts of simple battery and resisting arrest. The District 3 School Board member, was found to also have a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear regarding two DWI charges.

According to booking information, no bond has been set for Wilkins. Richland Parish Sheriff Lee Harrell says the failure to appear charge is a "pay the fine or do the time," and that Wilkins must pay more than $2500 or serve time.
