Convincing truck decal causes a stir in Waco community

Posted: Updated:

WACO, Tx. (KNOE 8 News, CBS KWTX) - A controversial tailgate decal, suggesting a woman is bound and tied in the back of a truck, is causing a stir in Waco, Texas.

Waco CBS affiliate KWTX reports that a very convincing decal on the tailgate of a truck is raising eyebrows in the community.

At first glance, you may think there is an actual woman tied up in the bed of a truck, but on closer inspection, it's just a sticker on the tailgate.

The decal was made by Hornet Signs, a marketing and advertising company in Waco. According to owner Brad Kolb, the sticker was put on an employee's truck to gauge how realistic their decals are. The town's reaction proves that sticker is extremely convincing.

Kolb said the model for the decal is an employee who volunteered to be tied up.

Many are outraged in Waco, saying the decal is a sick joke, that isn't very funny, but others are saying the stir it caused, shows how successful the decal is.

So the question is, "Poor taste, or good business?"
