ULM touts new treats at stadium

MONROE, La. (AP & KNOE 8 News) - First-year Louisiana-Monroe athletic director Brian Wickstrom is hoping to improve the fan experience as the Warhawks prepare for a Saturday opening against Grambling in what has come to be called the I-20 Classic.

In addition to beer being sold in the stadium for the first time, the ULM concessions will also have vendors like Johnny's Pizza, Catfish Cabin and Smitty's Famous Philly Cheese Steak.

Wickstrom, who was hired on July 2, says he's hoping fans appreciate the new options, as well as other improvements at the stadium.

This past week, banners were hung on the home side of the stands to recognize ULM's history. The banner lists national championship years as well as the 2012 Independence Bowl appearance.
