UPDATE: Police release name of victim, person of interest in morning shooting

SWARTZ, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office have released the name of this morning's early morning victim.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Kevin Brown. Sheriff officials confirm that Brown was shot in the upper torso by his wife 44 year-old Joan Brown. The victim was shot with a handgun.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Joan was transported to the OPSO Annex for further questioning.

The investigation is still on-going and more information will be released as it becomes available.


SWARTZ, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Ouachita Parish Sheriff Deputies now confirm that a man is dead after an early morning shooting in a mobile home park in Swartz.

OPSO Officials say they have not made an arrest at this time, however, that they currently have a person of interest in custody interviewing them.

No details on the victim or the person of interest have been released at this time.

SWARTZ, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Ouachita Parish Sheriff Deputies confirm that a shooting took place overnight in the Wildwood Mobile Home Park in Swartz.

Sheriff officials are still on the scene investigating the incident that occurred at 2:45 Tuesday morning.

1 person is in the hospital.  Their condition is not known at this time.

Our crew at the scene saw deputies taking a person with them.  Deputies confirm that person was taken in for questioning.

No arrests have been made at this time.
