LINCOLN, Neb. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Schools in the Midwest are letting kids out of class early all this week because of sweltering temperatures and no air conditioning in some classrooms.

Schools in Nebraska, Iowa, the Dakotas and Illinois let children out of class in the early afternoon Monday, before temperatures reached expected highs of nearly 100 degrees in much of the central United States.
