Body found in Ouachita River

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe police officers are looking into an accidental drowning.

Officers discovered the body of 32-year-old Don Bynum in the Ouachita River, Sunday, 15 feet under water. 

Investigators said earlier in the day around 3:00 P.M., they received a missing person report from the 600 Block of Park Avenue, near Forsythe Park. Relatives told officers Bynum did not return home after crossing the levee along the river. Family members also found shoes believed to belong to Bynum, near the river's edge.

A dive team recovered the body around 6:30 P.M. The investigation is still ongoing.
