WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Crews spent about 40-minutes putting out a house fire just off of New Natchitoches Road in West Monroe.

The fire broke out around 3:00 p.m. Friday at 105 Violet Drive. Fire officials believe an electrical panel shorted out causing the fire. The fire then caused an oxygen tank to explode while crews were fighting the fire.

There were no injuries. Fire officials say a person driving by saw flames coming from the back of the house and reported the fire.

The home is said to be a total loss.
