JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Washington (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Attorneys for the American soldier who massacred 16 Afghans in two villages plan today to present evidence to show their client deserves a chance at parole.

Yesterday, an Afghan farmer shot during the massacre took the stand at Staff Sgt. Robert Bales' sentencing hearing, cursing the soldier before breaking down.

Six other Afghans also testified.
