THE DALLES, Ore. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Authorities in Idaho are slowly allowing residents living near a 160-square-mile wildfire fire to return home.

A mandatory evacuation order has been lifted for the resort towns of Hailey, Ketchum and Sun Valley, Idaho.

Meanwhile, strong winds have helped a wildfire in Oregon to grow to nearly 8 square miles. Some buildings were evacuated Monday near the Columbia River city of The Dalles, and other residents are on standby to leave.
