JUNCTION CITY, Ar. (KNOE 8 News) - At the Louisiana-Arkansas border, a Junction City police officer was hurt in a crash, while pursuing a drug suspect on Friday afternoon.

The chase began at about 3 P.M., as part of a drug investigation in Farmerville.  The Junction City police officer joined other authorities in the pursuit on U.S. Highway 167, north of the Arkansas border.

That's where Officer Andre Benson wrecked his unit and was taken to a nearby hospital.  There's no word on his condition.

The Union Parish sheriff says 32-year-old Charlie Buggs, Jr., led police all the way to El Dorado where he struck two police cars and was finally arrested.

No one else was hurt.

Buggs faces a list of charges, including attempted second-degree murder and aggravated flight from an officer.
