Columbia police searching for suspect number 2

UPDATE: COLUMBIA, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Police are looking for a second suspect in a weekend confrontation that turned deadly in Caldwell parish.

Police have Ronald Wayne Dixon in custody on murder and attempted murder charges after police say Dixon ran his car into two people in coopers grocery parking lot on Brownsville road.

It resulted in the death of Ariel Craft.

Around the same time there was a shooting the victim was Wayne Dixon's wife Karen.

"The gun shot wounds.. We are still investigating in that we do not have a shooter on that but the women was released with the gun shot she is fine and she is still alive" says Clay Bennett Chief of Columbia Police.

Police are currently questioning witnesses and have named no suspects in the shooting.

COLUMBIA, La. (KNOE 8 News)- A Columbia woman is dead and three others are injured, after being hit by a car in the parking lot of Cooper's Grocery in Columbia early Sunday morning.

Aerial Craft of Columbia was pronounced dead at the scene on Brownsville Road around 3am Sunday. Three other victims were transported to Citizens Medical Center for treatment.

Ronald Wayne Dixon, 43, of Columbia, has been booked on charges of Second Degree Murder and Second Degree Attempted Murder after running over the two people with his car.

Deputies tell KNOE that after Dixon was taken into custody, he was  beaten by other inmates while in a holding cell. Dixon is now in protective custody.

We've also learned that after Dixon's arrest, his wife was brought into a local hospital with a gunshot wound, according to family members she was treated and released.
