OAKLAND, Calif. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Some 2,400 workers for Bay Area Rapid Transit are threatening to strike Monday, after failing to make much progress in contract negotiations with BART.

The train operators, station agents, mechanics, maintenance workers and professional staff went on strike for four days last month, disrupting the daily commute for area residents, but workers agreed to return to work until Aug. 4, while talks continued.
