Police Release:

On 07-26-13 at approximately 2:00 am, unknown persons damaged the ATM at the Richland State Bank located on Forsythe Ave in an attempt to gain entry into the machine.  The Suspect utilized a chain and a stolen F350 pickup in an attempt to pull the ATM doors open.  The ATM was completely ripped from its foundation and landed on the ground.  The suspect was unsuccessful in gaining access to the machine and fled the scene.

A short time later, the same suspect and truck used the same tactic at Bancorp South in West Monroe.  The suspect was successful during this attempt and was able to gain access to the ATM cash drawers and fled with an as yet determined amount of cash.  It was later determined that the suspect vehicle had been stolen from a hotel parking lot in West Monroe and was later found abandoned at a restaurant parking lot near the same hotel.  A review of video surveillance footage of all locations is being conducted at this time.

There is no suspect description available at this time.  The investigation is continuing.
