NEW YORK (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Chants, prayers, sermons and signs have been expressing the outrage after a Florida jury acquitted former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the shooting death of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin.

In New York City, hundreds of protesters marched in Times Square Sunday night, chanting "Justice for! Trayvon Martin!"

In Los Angeles groups of people broke from a peaceful protest and began throwing rocks and batteries at police officers. Police arrested one man.

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti is urging demonstrators to "practice peace."
