Updated: Murder-suicide in West Monroe subdivision

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Update: The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office reports 66-year-old Alvin Fife and 64-year-old Frankie Fife are the victims in the apparent murder-suicide in West Monroe.

The sheriff tells us the husband called 911 apparently after shooting his wife around 1:00 p.m. Thursday. The sheriff says he then left a note and killed himself before authorities could arrive.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff Deputies tell our crew two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide  in the Indian Lakes subdivision in West Monroe.

The incident happened at 103 Greenbriar, just off of Arkansas Road. The home is currently occupied by a family with the last name "Fife." Neighbors tell our crew say one of the family members had worked at a lock shop. Neighbors also say those living at the house had health issues.

Deputies are not releasing many details, but say the incident happened at a home on Greenbriar Drive off of Arkansas Road.
