WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A former Monroe mayoral candidate is facing drug and weapon charges after being arrested last Friday.

Tony Little, who ran against Jamie Mayo in 2008, was arrested in West Monroe last week after police officials say they discovered hydrocodone and a gun in his car.

Police were called to investigate a crash that Little was involved in and say that he kept changing his story about the accident. Police also say they found marijuana in the vehicle.

He was arrested and has since bonded out of the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center.
