Three indictments in the Mattie Williams Cold Case

BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A grand jury in Morehouse Parish handed down three indictments for the murder of Mattie Williams back in 2006.

First Assistant District Attorney Stephen Sylvester said Stanley Mitchell, John Williams, and Renwick Jackson received indictments this week.

Mitchell, Williams, and Jackson are all facing a second-degree murder charge. If convicted, they face mandatory life sentences.

Mitchell and Jackson are being held at the Morehouse Parish Jail on a $350,000 bond. Williams, the son of the victim, is being held at the Morehouse Parish Jail on a $150,000 bond.

67-year-old Mattie Williams was killed in the Town of Collinston.
